About Studio City
Studio City is a neighborhood in Los Angeles that sits in the San Fernando Valley and was established by a film producer named, Mack Sennett in 1927. It was actually named after the studio lot, but now is known as the CBS Studio Center.
It’s just over the hill from the Hollywood bustle and has quaint, tree-lined residential streets. The city is surrounded by North Hollywood, Universal City, Toluca lake and Hollywood. It’s a great place to live as there are tons of things to do and lot’s of walkability.
The main street in Studio City is a lively Ventura Blvd which turns into Barham when entering Hollywood.
Ventura Blvd is a street you can spend days on. There are so many places to eat, shopping centers, fitness gyms, pet stores, groomers, and etc. There are also areas that has access to major hikes like Wilacre or Fryman Canyon and There’s also a walking trail that’s landscaped and follows the south bank of the Los Angeles River which is north of Ventura Blvd.
Studio city is where the famous Laurel Canyon resides. Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Boulevard traverse the Santa Monica Mountains and connect Studio City to West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, respectively.
One fun fact of Studio City is that the Brady Bunch house resides there at 11222 Dilling St., Studio City 91602. There are actually people that live there so you can only do street viewings. Whenever you saw the kids outside playing in the show, it was actually taken at the Paramount Studios in Hollywood and in real life the inside and rear of the house is completely different than what’s shown in the tv series. This is the most visited house besides the white house! Wow!
One thing I love about Studio City is the farmers market that happens every Sunday. They have a petting zoo, all kinds of fruits and veggies and some really fun stuff to buy and face painting for kids. You could totally get away with not leaving this neighborhood much as everything you need is there!
